Now Playing Food and Liquor : Kick Push

he said it was his destiny, his passion

whether he’s in the air, or on the ground dashing

Homies in the hood say that its white or he lame

He was like this is escape from this trap and the game

momma said” You need a new hobby”

he said this is my life, so why you trying to rob me

without another word, he rolled out the door

behind him his mom yelled” don’t bring ya ass back here no more

so as he skates alone, he thinks of his pain

he glides forward and never looks back again

They say home is the place to be

But all his life he was thinking ” of a place for me”

in his mind there’s an image that he’s painting

it involves sharp turns, freedom, and skating

his emotions took him to a whole new land

why people didn’t accept him, he couldn’t understand

in this world it was just him and his board

with dreams of being high as the sky he adored

So puff puff with Reggie, he had the rocket power

And somedays he even contemplated the powder

see lately he wasn’t free in his mind

But it always felt like he was free on the grind

now he’s living a forever in a never land

just a lost boy and his board is his peter pan

So now he kick flips on cloud nine

all his tricks make his storm subdue, and now his sun shines

so as he grinds life’s obstacles with no fear

His mom’s voice in head say’s “i thought i told you there’s no skating in here

and so he kicked pushed kicked pushed kicked pushed kicked pushed coast….

just a loner on his own

hoping that he can find a place he calls home

and so he kicked pushed kicked pushed kicked pushed kicked pushed coast….

so come glide with me

so maybe in the air i can finally be free
